
“Danube4SEecosystem - Enhancing the development of Social Economy by engaging Local Public Authorities in the Social Enterprises supporting Ecosystem for a more inclusive Labor Market in the Danube Region” is financed under 1st Call of Danube Region Programme 2021-2027, Programme priority 3 – A more social Danube Region, Specific objective 3.1 – Accessible, inclusive and effective labour markets.
The main objective of the project : to jointly develop inspiring policies for social enterprises by involving local public authorities into the social enterprises supporting ecosystem in order to enhance inclusive employment in the Danube region while supporting the sustainable operation of social enterprises as interpreted on the basis of a broad definition, in order to strengthen their employment role at the settlement and regional level.

Total budget of the project: 1.883.344,50 euro. Central Danube Development Agency Nonprofit Ltd.’s budget is 192.000 euro. Central Danube Development Agency Nonprofit Ltd.’s contribution in the project is 5 % - 9.600 euro.
Main results of the project:
Danube4SEEcosystem project will address the challenges in Danube Region by developing the policy and legal frameworks for creating the right environment for the social economy to thrive. Within the project, smart and coordinated public policies will be developed (Strategy for Inclusive Social Economy Ecosystem & Action plan) and will be pilot tested in 5 countries on 5 themes. PPs will disseminate the results and Policy Recommendations to policymakers and EUSDR representatives by organizing 3 PLDs for improving existing and future policies in the DR that will support municipalities to systematically sustain the functioning and development of social enterprises in their territory, with a focus on those SEs that involve people disadvantaged in the labour market.
Also, the project will enhance resilience and recovery of SEs, strengthen their skills and capacities, increase cooperation with Local Public Authorities and stakeholders by providing training that use micro-credential qualifications, networking and attending the Co-creation workshops.
D4SEE project foster cooperation of SEs with their ecosystem by creating the Danube Social Economy Network and testing the Strategy through the implementation of 5 pilot actions in 5 countries which will lead to 15 cooperation agreements. Pilot results will be embedded in the D4SEE Social Economy Support Methodology for applying solutions on SE collaborative models. Knowledge acquired will be passed on within 3 Transnational Knowledge Transfer Workshops & National Transfer Workshops. Danube Social Economy Network, formed by 115 stakeholders in the Danube region, will ensure transferability of project outputs and building links with Danube regional social economy ecosystem.

Through Danube4SEecosystem (D4SEE) project, the consortium, associated strategic partners and stakeholders will aim to jointly develop inspiring policies for social enterprises by involving local public authorities into the social enterprises supporting ecosystem in order to enhance inclusive employment in the Danube region while supporting the sustainable operation of social enterprises.
On December 9–10, the 3rd Knowledge Transfer Workshop and Partners’ Meeting of the Danube4SEecosystem project was successfully held in the Czech Republic. The professional sessions were hosted by the South Bohemian Chamber of Commerce in České Budějovice.
During the workshop, international experts and decision-makers shared their experiences regarding the regulatory environment, public funding and financing opportunities, as well as the challenges and best practices in labor market integration.
In the interactive World Café sessions, participants collaboratively explored solutions applicable in legislation, education, and financing, with particular attention to their regional and international transferability.
On the last day of the event, the Partners’ Meeting took place, where partners reviewed the results achieved so far, coordinated tasks for the upcoming period, and reinforced their partnership cooperation.

The third edition of the Vándor Academy workshop series, focused on knowledge-sharing and shaping mindsets, was successfully held yesterday. This session also served as the fourth stakeholder meeting of the Danube4SEecosystem project, implemented under the Interreg Danube Program.
The third stop of the Vándor Academy was in Kiskőrös, where the focus was on communities, social innovations, and social enterprises. Participants had the opportunity to learn about operating models, best practices, and inspiring experts and social entrepreneurs, who can serve as future examples for local settlements and communities in the region. The event confirmed the strong demand among participants for similar thematic events, supporting regional knowledge-sharing and networking.

On November 27, 2025, a one-day online workshop was organized within the framework of the Interreg Danube Programme – Danube4SEecosystem project. The aim of the event was to strengthen system-level understanding, cooperation, and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders in the Central Danube Priority Region. Representatives of local municipalities, social enterprises, and higher education institutions worked together during the program.
During the workshop, participants jointly examined the challenges currently hindering cooperation in the region. Participants agreed that stakeholders often operate in isolation, structured knowledge-sharing is lacking, and there are limited platforms for regular interaction.

As a proposal, the launch of a pilot program was identified, which would strengthen cooperation between local municipalities, social enterprises, and higher education institutions through quarterly workshops and joint projects.

The Policy Learning Dialogue and Danube4SEecosystem Partner Meeting were organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on October 22–23, 2025, bringing together experts, decision-makers, and representatives of the social economy from the Danube Region.
On the first day, participants met in Belgrade, where panel discussions were held on socially responsible financing, cooperation between municipalities and social enterprises, and opportunities for developing the social economy in the Danube Region. As part of the program, a World Café session was conducted, focusing on the key policy priorities for developing the social entrepreneurial ecosystem, current challenges hindering their implementation, and identifying the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders.
Participants also discussed ways to strengthen partnerships and promote sustainable development in the region.
On the second day, Bogatić hosted the Danube4SEecosystem Partners’ Meeting, where project partners reviewed financial management, communication activities, ongoing project tasks, and coordinated plans for the next semester.
The day concluded with a presentation of the “Avlija održivog razvoja” social enterprise, providing an inspiring example of sustainable and socially responsible economic initiatives.

Yesterday, the Idea Development Workshop, organized online in partnership with CDDA Nonprofit Ltd. as part of the INTERREG Danube Region Programme – Danube4SEecosystem project, was successfully completed. The workshop was specifically announced for university students. University students participated in the event representing social enterprises and thinking like social entrepreneurs.
The Danube4SEecosystem project aims to strengthen the social economy of the Danube Region, enhance cooperation between municipalities and social enterprises, and support the expansion of innovation and digital skills.
During the student workshop, young participants – with a social entrepreneurial mindset – worked on how they can become problem-solvers and innovators, contributing to the main objectives of the project.
As part of the program series, both regional municipalities and students were prepared for the co-creation workshop in November, where idea development will continue with the support of expert mentors and a jury.

The Idea-Development Workshop was implemented as part of Danube4SEecosystem D2.3.2 – Training sessions for SEs. Following the workshop, a mentoring session on the D4SEE platform was conducted, showcasing the platform’s content, functions, and practical applications to encourage participants to use the platform in their professional activities.

Within the framework of the INTERREG Danube Region Programme – Danube4SEecosystem project, implemented in partnership with CDDA Nonprofit Ltd., we invited local municipalities to a special professional workshop today in Dunaföldvár.
The aim of the workshop was to improve the framework conditions related to the social economy of the Danube Region, to jointly identify social and environmental challenges affecting settlements, and to contribute to the development of a more resilient and innovative social economy.
The event is part of a multi-stage series, in which municipalities, social entrepreneurs, young people, and experts work together on new ideas and solutions.
The event was moderated on behalf of CDDA Nonprofit Ltd. by Zsuzsanna Sándor-Majoros, Professional Director, Eszter Lancsár, Project Manager, and Áron Jakab, an expert participating in the Danube4SEecosystem project.

The third Regional Stakeholder Meeting of the Danube4SEecosystem project took place online on June 24, 2025, with the participation of key players in the social economy ecosystem. The purpose of the meeting was to present the progress of the project, share the experiences of international study trips (Bratislava, Maribor), and present the results of the Hungarian pilot project.
New members joined the work through a short project presentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and cooperation. Participants discussed preparations for upcoming events and workshops, helping to involve local governments and social enterprises with practical suggestions.
The meeting concluded with a summary of the main recommendations and next steps, highlighting the importance of further cooperation in promoting the social economy in the Danube region.
The second seminar and visit tour of the Danube4SEecosystem project took place in Maribor, Slovenia, on 20-21 May 2025.
During the second seminar of the Danube4SEecosystem project, participants were given a comprehensive overview of local support for social economy actors and learned about good practices from the region.

The Danube4SEecosystem project seminar and partner meeting took place in Bratislava on December 3-4, 2024.

On the second day, program participants visited four social enterprises dealing with different topics. The two-day event not only provided an opportunity to showcase the practical operation and regional examples of social enterprises, but also facilitated the exchange of experiences, networking, and the development of a sustainable social economy.

The second policy workshop within the Danube4SEecosystem project took place on October 24-25, 2024. The event was held in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In addition to knowledge transfer, the transnational workshop aimed to improve policy coordination and develop tools that support social enterprises in the Danube region, while promoting dialogue and mutual knowledge sharing among the organizations participating in the project.
At the workshop, Ágnes Ombódi, Head of the Social Cooperative Coordination Department of the Deputy State Secretariat for Public Works at the Ministry of the Interior, also gave an online presentation on the Focus Program.

From January 1, 2024, KDMFÜ Nonprofit Kft. will participate as a partner in the Danube4SEecosystem project, whose main goal is to work with organizations involved in international cooperation to develop inspiring policies for social enterprises and other actors in the social economy with the involvement of local governments, all this by generating cross-sectoral cooperation.

The first stakeholder meeting of the Danube4SEecosystem project took place today at the KDMFÜ office.
The project is implemented in the framework of the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme in cooperation with 10 international partners.
The main objective is to develop inspiring tools for social enterprises (as well as other actors of the social economy) by involving local authorities and generating cross-sectoral cooperation.
It also aims to promote inclusive forms of employment in the Danube Region, while supporting the strengthening of the social economy and the sustainable operation of social enterprises (and other social economy actors), in order to strengthen their employment role at municipal and regional level.
The opening conference of the international project "Danube4SEecosystem", funded by the Interreg Danube Region Programme, will take place in Romania on 22 April from 10-17 April. The main objective of the project is to develop tools for social enterprises, with the involvement of local authorities, to create sustainable operations for them in order to strengthen their role at municipal and regional level. KDMFÜ Nonprofit Ltd. is participating in the project as project partner and work package leader. The conference languages are Romanian and English.
